Blog. Day One.

Friday, July 30, 2010

Dear Olive,

I’ve thought about starting this blog for a long time. I know there are better writers out there, better photographers, mums with more interesting lives. But I must still think I have something to contribute in blogland ... or perhaps it's mostly for me, a project. I guess it’s for you too. A record of your life. I wish my Mum kept a diary or something for me to read back on now. I would give anything to know how she was feeling. I was her first born child too. What a profoundly life changing event having a child is, something difficult to describe or measure.

On the 24th of October 2009 you changed everything for me.

People often comment on your frown, as if it’s a bad thing. But I love it, it was the first look you ever gave me.

Gorgeous! I, too, wish someone had kept a journal for me to read, so I'm doing something similar for my little one (albeit in pen and paper because I'm a pretty inconsistent blogger).

Oh and;

October 24 is a superb birthday to have!
