Dear Olive,
We bid a sad bon voyage over fruit buns and tea (the only way to do it), to our dear dear friends, Jane, Ada and Toby last week. Jane and I have known each other since we were 21, hanging out backstage at the Annandale, trying to appear cool. We've seen each other through many ups and downs, disastrous fashions (mostly me) and different cities (mostly Jane). But the best thing of all, was becoming mothers together (well, relatively together - you and Ada are about 5 months apart). It's cemented our friendship in a way that took me by surprise and it's been marvellous to be able to share the mundane, the beauty and the frustration of motherhood with someone who's not only a great friend, but someone I completely respect, and am inspired by, as a parent. But you can't hold a good woman down - last year the amazing Jane won the prestigious Robert Helpmann scholarship, so they've set off overseas seeking adventure, dancing and lederhosen. You can see some of Jane's work and follow the adventure here. We'll miss them!

What a beautiful post about friendship Kellie. I adore my oldest bestest friend and I love the way our relationship has just gotten better now that we are both mama's.
Thank goodness for email/skype/blog etc. It won't be the same as having her here but at least you'll still be able to keep in touch really well.
xx
ps. The aforementioned friend I spoke about? She was the one who I use to hang out in Fortitude Valley with, totally rocking out at Sidewinder gigs!
How beautiful. The first picture would be perfect for my montage challenge :-) http://capturingmomentss.blogspot.com/2011/08/black-and-white-montage-that-ends-with.html
Have a lovely weekend. x
Oh you keep making me cry! I already miss you and Olive, but I'm very glad to have dear olive as a kind of proxy. And you never attempted to appear cool, because you actually are cool. Unlike me. Still trying, particularly with all these berlin hipsters about. See, even using the word hipster is deeply uncool.
jane xx
PS. you may not be excited about Olive's whole night of sleep, but I can tell you I am, and looking forward to about 5 months from now when I will be understated about Ada's sleeping abilities too.
Aw, sweet pics of the two 'little' friends. Very cute. x
Sounds like you guys have a lovely friendship. And that first pic is adorable Kellie. If it's any consolation, 12 months goes by pretty damn quickly. xx
Oh and if it's lederhosen they seek then a trip down here is a must!
That first photo ... such a special moment captured. And your friendship with Jane sounds perfect!
aw, this post got me all choked up! :)
