Dear Olive,
The birthday festivities have begun with a few early birthday presents coming your way on the weekend. A trip to the toy store with God Nonna Jo under generous instructions to choose anything you wanted. When you grabbed the tiny logging truck I subtly suggested you choose something, er, bigger. You walked away with some awesome wooden blocks as well, but it's the little logging truck with the matchstick sized logs that you love and take to bed to cuddle. (My brother and I did the same thing to Anika when we were taken to the toy store by a family friend and told we could pick anything. Three year old Anika picked something very small. Hayes and I, being older and wiser and far more aware of toy shop economy, quickly pulled her aside and set her straight. Don't you want the barbie convertible? Yup, she'll take the barbie convertible, thanks.) And a 10 minute ride on a wild steed called Petal from "Aunty" Rachelle. You'd been so excited, for days saying bridle on, hold reins. You looked so tiny up on that horse, I couldn't believe you stayed on. What a lucky duck you are.

Yeehaw Olive! So darn cute with her big blue eyes looking up at the horse in awe...very exciting.
And I think the whole sleeping with tiny logs will in actual fact help her to sleep like a log.
Mads xxxxx

The ex-pony-club-girl loves these pictures! So cute... she'll be a dressage champion before we know it!

Her expression in that second photo? Priceless!
And love the Barbie Convertible story...I remember my sis and I doing that with my brother. Although I can't imagine it was relating to anything Barbie.... xx
Amazing! What a lucky little thing. She'll be galloping off before you know it x
Kellie, I am catching up on the latest, here... so Happy Birthday to Olive and to you! Your family portraits are so comfortable and beautiful. You all look fantastic.
And that weaning... tough stuff-but you all can do it-sounds like you will be going it slow-and that is just right, in my mind... I love that Olive wanted to go into the cake book.... kinda like going into a sidewalk drawing or something..
and I guess I am not really caught up because-I didn't remember you working-but, I will have to dig to get up to date with that.
Cheers xo Paula
a logging truck, she is welcome in our home anytime.
OMG Kel that is so adorable, Olive on a horse!! She looks so grown up!!! tear....flick xoxoox

happy birthday!
I need to go horse-back riding with the girls, they are crazy about horses, and ponies, and horses, and ponies.
PS Happy to hear the weaning is going well! Much luck!
Sounds like my olive , a little girl with boys toys. Now to organise a pony ride!
Xo em
If only we could all be transported back to that time when best wasn't necessarily biggest. What a sweetie.
I think I want a horsey ride for my birthday too.
I just got another glimpse of her in that helmet and it just about killed me. CUTE! x
The last photo of little Olive in big helmet kills me. She is such a cool little chica. No fear at all. Me on the other hand? So not a horse person. No way Jose. xx Ps Can't believe Olive will be 2 very soon.
