The Christmas Wrap

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Dear Olive,
This Christmas wrap up is, like, so three weeks ago. But we'll forge ahead regardless. Here's how our christmas wrapping turned out. I carved a potato and let you go wild with some food colouring (I won't make that mistake again, we were both blue for days). The spindly little aloe vera plant is my pathetic attempt at a christmas tree. I wasn't going to do a tree at all (so grinchy of me), but then I won (I won!) those lovely decorations over at Made by Mosey and I had to put them somewhere. Your two most played with christmas presents - the train set and the doctors kit. And then there's this photo, which I'm putting in just because. (Have I told you that Shane is the funniest person I know?) A whopping great diamond python zoomed it's way across that court only an hour before we played. C'mon!

Did you realise we both did posts on wrapping paper within minutes of each other? Weird.

Cool pics, love the last one of Shane! Haha!

I love handmade wrapping paper but I know what you mean about food colouring taking ages to come out:) I love the train set Olive got, I had one for my girls they are lovely sadly they are getting bigger so my nephew plays with it now. Happy New Year and thank you for stopping by. x

Oh my son Jude has this train set! It's wonderful and he's had it out for more than 6 months and plays with it most days. So lovely the wooden toys..

I'm Sarah by the way. I like your blog.

Love your wrapping paper. Know what you mean about colouring getting everywhere. I got my little 3 month old bub help make his dad a gift of art and was washing the paint out of his toes, nails and hair for days afterwards. Totally worth it though - so is Olive's artwork.

Hey, welcome back Kellie! So happy to hear your break was amazing, and I know how you feel about coming back to city living (except my parents unit is so small that our flat seemed big – for at least a day). Love these pics, you and Olive are both gorgeous. x

I forgot what I was going to say. Something nice about the wrapping... but the pleasantries have been taken over with hysterics at Shane's court moves. !!! x

We've had Christmas at Mum & Dad's in Perth since Paige was born, 11 years in total. This year was our last, as I'll be working over Christmas for the next few years. I'm actually looking forward to starting new traditions in our own house, but a bit nervous it won't live up to the past decade of holidays. Love the post, and totally get it. Enjoy the time up there in the summer, so great to have a close family. x

eeek! my boys had that train set, it brings back such wonderful memories. My oldest would play with it for hours now at 16 we only see him come out of his room only when absolutely necessary...they grow too quickly.
