Dear Olive,
I'm always interested to know what other people feed themselves and their kids, so I thought I'd start sharing some of our meals. We try to eat pretty healthy over here, with limited refined sugar, or anything too processed. But of course, there are exceptions, like ice cream, or sausage rolls with loads of tomato sauce. But I think (I hope!), that it's ok to have the crappier treats sometimes if in general you're eating lots of the good stuff.
Anyway, for lunch today you were served up leftover roast pumpkin (cooked in coconut oil with salt, powdered ginger and turmeric) plus a boiled egg thrown in for some protein. (You and I each eat at least an egg per day.) Looking at the photo it looks a little on the meagre side! But you were super happy with it.
For me, it was leftover roast lamb, with (*gasp* store bought!) aioli, sweet sweet cherry tomatoes and lettuce on kamut bread toast. It was the tastiest sandwich I've had in a while.
I wonder what everyone else is eating?

I used some left over lamb also (thanks to australia day)to make up a cous cous salad....corn, capsicum, chick peas, cherry toms, parsley, lemon juice and a ittle oil!! All were happy :)
Can I ask what is kamut bread??
Today for lunch it was leftover vegetable tart with eggplant, zucchini, tomato, ricotta and basil...yummy! Your lamb sandwich looks good :)
am just in the process of collecting food pics in a folder to make a 'what p ate' post. love seeing others gastronomic endeavours. yours surely did not fail to impress. num num! x ashley
Yum! Elke loves roast pumpkin, will read up on coconut oil. I cut up a whole butternut and cook enough for a couple of days then cook the rest as needed over the week, keeps a bit better like that and less frigging chopping. Our go-to for Elke at the moment is sliced garlic mushrooms and a scrambled egg. I also make Annabel Karmel's Moroccan Lamb Casserole (recipe on her website, though I add whatever vegies I have too) and freeze in silicone muffin trays as an easy dinner for her. She loves broad beans and broccoli. For "dessert" she gets greek yoghurt with a drizzle of hemp seed oil for the crazy-good omega 3-6 ratio. It's effing expensive but worth it as I don't eat fish really. For us grown-ups I've been making a salad of roast pumpkin, persian feta, dill, mint and brown rice (sometimes with chicken too) for lunch quite a bit. x Louise
you know what this means Kellie.
Recipes! Yours! On here asap.

Wow, your sandwich looks delish! I had a less exciting slice of toast and an apple.
I've given you a wee award. Check it out here:

Great idea Kellie. I often wonder this myself! xx
lots of hummus over here, and apples dipped in almond butter.
I'm way too embarrassed to show you Kel...xx
Yum, i really like the look of olive's lunch! I had yummy bread from adriano zumbo with roasted eggplant and capsicum for lunch, with a ginger beer. Perfect summer lunch!
What a healthy lunch! The sandwich looks delicious. But even Olive's lunch looks very edible to me too!
Because of Lunar/Chinese New Year, we've been eating a lot of homemade chinese meals (No MSG or too much sugar). Oh and lots of watermelon. It's been so hot in Perth lately.

Yummo ... I agree with Jodi - recipe sharing please!
All this looks yum! You should continue the food posts, Kellie. I'm also always interested to see what other kiddos are eating. I think I'm more French than English when it comes to preparing food. I've noticed that my English baby cousins eat a lot more finger food and here all my friends cook like me for their little ones, i.e. an entire cooked meal! L. always eats meat/fish+veggies+carbs, then bread and cheese, a yogurt and some fruit. As soon as I try to feed him finger food, he tells me he doesn't like it (boring). I think I've got a food snob on my hands!
Anyway, keep up with these posts per-lease. It inspires me to keep trying different sorts of foods on me lil' boy!
3 Studies SHOW Why Coconut Oil Kills Fat.
The meaning of this is that you literally burn fat by eating Coconut Fat (in addition to coconut milk, coconut cream and coconut oil).
These 3 studies from big medicinal journals are sure to turn the traditional nutrition world around!
