Dear Olive,
It was the loveliest long weekend. And why wouldn't it be? The weather was incredible. The company too. There were lots of fun catch ups with friends. And croissants. Even a little friends birthday celebration. Two things really stand out, though. First, was the monumental occasion of your first taste of chocolate. Twice! Once at yum cha, and then again two days later when you knew what it was all about and turned into a demon collector and unwrapper in the easter egg hunt at a friends bbq. To say that you could not believe the easter bunny had been through the garden and left the eggs is the sweetest understatement ever. The second thing is that for two days, we lost Olive. This is because for two whole days, you decided that you were not Olive, that you were in fact iggle piggle*. We had to address you as iggle piggle, a requirement Shane and I kept forgetting. No, you have to say do you want an egg iggle piggle! And the red iggle piggle blanket/shabby tea towel that you found was a constant companion. When we asked what happened to olive you said you ate her all up. Is she ever coming back? In three weeks. Then, after two days, out of the blue it's three weeks now you said. And Olive was back. Just like that. And just like that, the long weekend is over too.
*Iggle piggle is a character from in the night garden, for those not across strange two year old television.
