Water & Walks & More Kites

Monday, September 17, 2012

Dear Olive,
When the chips are down, and life's feeling crazy, it is so nice to have you around to remind us to find delight in the simple things in life. Like the fact that water comes out of the end of a hose. And that we live only two minutes away from the most beautiful place. And that the wind lifting a kite into the sky is incredible. But it's also great to be able to remember that it's ok to cry about some big, important things, too. Like your kite flying away and getting stuck in a tree. Or being hit in the head by a pine cone that you threw in the air yourself.

Love this post.
Thank goodness for 2 year olds! I know that ours is the light in our life at the moment. Some big crazy yuck going on, and yet she reminds us to enjoy the little things. So glad Olive is doing the same for you :)

She's gorgeous no matter what mood she's in. It's such an amazing comfort to have a family to anchor us back to what's important.

My goodness Olive is growing up to be so lovely. And I can see you in her face when she smiles :)

Oh sweetness! I feel her pain. Same think happened to my kite when I was about 5 and it devastated me! Not sure I'm over it yet...

And damn those blasted pinecones! X

Awww what a beautiful post Kellie. The ups and the downs!!!
Art also just learnt to fly a kite at the beach a few weekends ago. He broke down in a flood of tears when he had to give the kite back to our friends...he's now asking for one for his 3rd birthday.
