Dear Olive,
So here it is. The Breastfeeding Update. You are *I think* weaned off the night feeds. Gasp! Yes, it's true. I did it. And it was actually, dare I say it, kind of easy peasy. You randomly slept through the night last Friday (for the second time, ever), and I thought this is it, this is my chance, you're already one night in. The next night getting you ready for bed, I said guess what babe, Mummy doesn't make any me-me at night anymore. You can have me-me before you go to bed, but then not again until you wake up in the morning. You cried. No close me-me! Make more me-me Mummy! You slept through again that night. I walked in after you woke up to find you clapping your hands and yelling Yay, more me-me in there now!!! (Are you getting the idea that you're slightly me-me obsessed? Correct!) And it's all gone pretty smoothly from there. You've slept through 6 nights out of the past 10. Unbelievable! On the nights you've woken up, I've given you a drink of water, a cuddle and a song and you've resettled easily. And now that I've got a bit of control back, and I've got you down to just three feeds a day, I feel really happy to keep things just the way they are.
PS We got a new camera this morning. Excitement plus! Can't wait to play!

Yay for less me-me and more you-you at night! What a good girl making it so easy for you...

and huge YAY for that new camera - I know you've wanted one for ages! Actually, I just realised it's the exact same as mine! Good choice! x

Oooo snap! Nice camera, I think same as mine. Enjoy!

Also, as I wrote to you the other day, I really do think you have done an amazing job and the fact that Olive is coping well so far minus the me-me means that perhaps together you are doing what's best at the right time for both of you.

Yay-yay! So that's fab-fab! Enjoy your good nights sleep-sleep.......clearly I need an early night too. xxx-xxx

Wow Kellie, your approach is loving and thoughtful and it seems that Olive was so ready...that's kind of what we did too...except I think I got my husband to do more of it than me! x

I was totally picturing you two having this sweet talk. So cute your mother/daughter relation... and so great it turned out easier than expected. And now you have a better camera to record all sweetness, marvelous!

And I had to write here and say how wonderful! And how amazing that in the end it just took a decision, and that Olive understood. She is naturally so clever, but I daresay it also helps that she has an amazing and intelligent mother.
