The Thing About Beds

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

Dear Olive,
In our house we have three people and two beds. This is your bed. And this is mine and Shanes. Oh wait, is that one yours and mine, and the other one Shanes? Or the other way round? You see, I want to sleep next to Shane. Shane wants to sleep next to you. And you want to sleep next to me. Can anyone see the fatal error in this equation?
PS Your walls are not bare. Your bed is just very low.

Love a good bed swap .... my girls have bunks though - try sleeping on the top of one of those with or without kids!!

Ah Kellie - so very, very familiar! xx

try adding a four-year-old with nightmares to the equation. Perhaps a dad with the flu? A teething baby? A mum who would like some personal space?

Phew! I hear you Kellie, and I know exactly how you feel x

Gorgeous bed shots. And yes, I get that. Tiny wants in the middle of our bed. I want my own bed. Matt wants to be next to me. It's not simple.

I have pillow envy.

Whoo I love your cushions. Are they home craft?
There where three in the bed and the little one said: roll over!
I love a good snuggle with big and small people in the one bed, but try dealing with a teething bub that will ONLY sleep in the crook of your arm. Don't dare put him down between the two big people so you can roll over or straighten out your spine. Gah!

Cute. Except for the sleep deprivation bit.

I sympathise, we have a cot that is pretty much just a toy bed at the moment. Eve likes to sleep across my neck like a cat. Hope things improve.

We're playing a game of musical beds here at the moment..I will have a bed all to myself for ten whole nights after tomorrow, can't wait!
Love the cushions on your bed.

Your post and all the comments do make me smile. When we have new friends visit our house my 2 year old boy Sol takes them on a tour that goes like this "that's my and mum and (big brother) River's room" and then walks to the other bedroom and says "and that's Dad's room". Seems very normal to him :)
This too shall pass x

I wish we had a second bed... I would sleep in that and leave you and your father to snore and fart together. But we only have one bed and a cot.

Just discovered your lovely little blog.
I made a cushion cover using the exact same water birds tea towel. All the cushions look great on the bed, I can see why its so appealing to Olive.
