Rainy Sunday Adventure

Sunday, November 10, 2013

Dear Olive,
When it's raining in the city, I feel like there are fairly limited options in the sense of an activity that expels some of your energy, in a still-enjoyable way for the adults, and which doesn't cost a bomb. Visit friends. Visit a museum. Or, go to yum cha. This morning we awoke to a grey drizzly day and after a few quick texts with a couple of mates, we were cruising through the city in the Ford Focus Titanium, on our way to yum cha. Yum cha really is a time honoured tradition amongst my family and friends, and over the years we've frequented many of the different yum cha's around town. But for the past couple of years, it's been the Sydney Fish Markets. (Free parking will always win out in Sydney. Every. Single. Time.) The food is great, there are giant fish and sea creatures to look at and, most importantly, the staff are very tolerant of kids running wild whilst the parents turn a blind eye. All in all, it was a great rainy Sunday morning adventure.

Being Chinese I am big on the yumcha too! Love seeing how other families rearrange their days to suit the weather. x
